Hurricane Michael Disaster Relief

Updated: Oct 16, 2018

The Tinker Spouses Club, in coordination with base leadership, is collecting donations for individuals and families displaced by Hurricane Michael.

Tens of thousands - including many military servicemembers and their families - have been affected by the historic storm in Florida's panhandle. The devastation is widespread, and entire towns remain without power, water, or basic services.

Many who evacuated have nothing left but the few items they took with them before the storm.

That's where YOU come in. The Tinker Spouses' Group, in coordination with base leadership and coordinated efforts in the Florida Panhandle, will be collecting items for those affected.

Here are the details:

  • Items should be placed in a standard size shoe box or plastic container.

  • All items must be delivered to the Tinker Thrift Shop at Bldg 6002, near the Auto Hobby Shop, Gerrity Fitness Center, and AFRC. You can also contact coordinating Tinker Spouse Club members to coordinate drop off.

  • Our outreach cannot accept cash donations at this time.

We will be collecting the following items to fill shoe boxes. These items have been specifically requested by displaced families and would be greatly appreciated:

  • Blank notebooks

  • Blank notepads

  • Coloring books

  • Pens & pencils

  • Crayons

  • Colored pencils

  • Stickers

  • Small toys

  • Travel games

  • Small books

  • Playing cards

  • Toothbrushes

  • Toothpaste

  • Hand sanitizer

  • Nail polish

  • Hair accessories

  • Small toiletries

  • Stress Balls

  • Batteries

  • Granola Bars

  • Snacks

  • Gum/ Mints

  • Plastic or cardboard shoe box containers with lids

THANK YOU for your generous support of hurricane victims!
